Memphis 55 BYU 48 2OT (Miami Beach Bowl)

Featured Replies

This was probably one of if not the best games that I have watched all season. Lead changed hands a few times, game was filled with big plays by both teams on both offense and defense.

Memphis tied the game in an ot on a 58yd. fg.. The game ended on an interception by Memphis of a BYU pass that was heading for the end zone.

Should anyone had not watched this one and just love college football then I would recommend watching or DVR a replay.

I am biased because I am a loooong-suffering Memphis alum and fan. However frustrating it was with 9 turnovers total, it did make for an exciting game. It, of course, is more exciting for me because we won. Memphis has a huge challenge building a program when much of the local media is UT and Ole Miss dedicated as well as a lot of residents and politicians. It is ok that they don't support the program, but what is bad is that they try to tear it down. It goes way back to my time there. They are fine with Memphis basketball, because it is not the emphasis of these schools, but heaven forbid Memphis be competitive in football. I am glad Memphis didn't go the way of UAB football which had almost exactly the same challenge.

This is a big deal for us Memphis fans.
