7:30 tonight the 2014 Regional Champion PRP travels to open their season against a top regional contender in Doss. This opener for both teams will be a closely watched game that sets the early tone for who should become the dominant team in the region. Doss clearly has the talent to win the region and the size that will match up with Bullitt East who beat North Oldham in their opener by 14. PRP, Doss, & Bullitt East are all expected to contend for the 6th Region title as the clear top 3 teams in the region.

 

Coach Tony Williams debuts as the new Doss coach where he was a former star. He inherits an abundance of talent that is also well served with senior leadership in Terrell Gray and lightening quick PG Dujuanta Weaver who is recovering from a knee injury suffered in the Spring AAU season last May. If Weaver returns fully healthy and Gray brings energy to match that of PRP star, Richard Gaines, the winner of this game will send a message of who is the team to beat in the 6th region this season.

 

We should also get an early idea on which player begins to build their resume as the Top Player in the 6th region.

I picked PRP to win this region in the contest, but really wanted to take Doss. Should be a great game.

If Williams can keep the kids focused the whole season, Doss can be special. I believe last year Doss won the opening game against PRP but prp got revenge in the region.
