Four wheels in motion: QBs drive playoff teams

A broken foot dashed Kash Daniel’s hopes of cracking into the mix at quarterback.

An experienced hand kept Josh Young at bay on the depth start.

A field general’s arm and legs couldn’t be matched by Grant Kiser, not just yet.

Of the four quarterbacks on local teams still afloat in the playoff pool, only Russell’s Jacob McKee attempted more than nine passes in 2013. Coming into the season, he was the sole returning starter of the QB quartet.

McKee has been cool in control as Russell (10-2) enters a regional final meeting with Bourbon County at home on Friday.

For Paintsville, Raceland and Lawrence County, Daniel, Young and Kiser also have their coaches both comfortable and confident with their navigators in November.

Raceland has had a long line of good high school qb's.

Raceland has been blessed dating back to Aaron Pettery, Scott Grizzle, Tyler Boyles, Tyler Farley, Adam Elkins and now Josh. Good group over the last 14 years, or so.
