Who advances to the Regional Finals? Why?

Oh let's see... who should I pick... uuuh I'm going with Boone.

 

Last time against Boone, I was impressed with St. Henry's ability to possess the ball and move down the field with crisp passes to feet and space out to provide outlets. They, along with CovCath, were the only team that held the upper hand against Boone the entire game. Though Boone had some chances in the previous game, they never really were a threat. So I think St. Henry is a tough team for Boone to beat.

 

However, the previous match was during the span when Boone had 6 players out and many of the Boone boys were inexperienced and we did a lot of kick ball. This time, we will have a full squad--minus 3 boys--one out with injury. So this is Boone's team at basically full-strength. I'm counting on this fact to be the deciding factor in which St. Henry won't be able to possess the ball as easily. They will be challenged at every point. If Coach Browning plays the defense like he did last night it will be harder for St. Henry to score, and Boone's offense will possess the ball in St. Henry's end of the field a little more and create some opportunities for shots. I think our mid-fielders step up this game too. Benjamin will continue his stellar play.

 

So I predict Boone 2-1 at the end of regulation. Of course, I cannot discount that St. Henry may put together a really good game and things may turn out all together differently. I have lots of respect for their team..

Boone commits to defending hard and attacking fairly directly when they have opportunities. Look for St Henry to have more possession but Boone to end up winning. I'll go out on a limb and say 2-0 Boone.

You have to get up pretty early in the morning to beat Yellow Card to the punch.

I think that I am going with the same score from earlier in the year, 2-1 St. Henry. I know that Boone was missing some players from that game, but St. Henry wasn't exactly on top of their game at that point in the season either. The St. Henry defense has been playing better toward the end of the season and the offense is finding opportunities to score when they are patient and creative. Win or lose both teams have had good seasons in a Region that is almost impossible to pick a winner with so many even teams. We can only hope that next year is as hotly contested as this one.
