After a little research, I have come to the conclusion that this will be the only match in NKY tonight that will definitely have a winner.

This should be a nice match. Cooper is without Ross and possibly O'Brien, who is battling injury. Boone I believe will be short a guy who got a red card in their match before Campbell and not sure about the kid who went to the hospital at the Campbell game.

Big result for both, the winner plays Conner in districts and loser plays Ryle. Also, i am sure Cooper's pitch will be in great shape tonight...

Boone wins 2-1. Yes, yes, Boone has another boy out with a red card. I discussed this in another thread. Ryle kid running towards goal. Ball out front. He is pursued closely by Boone kid. Boone keeper comes out and makes a fantastic stop on the ball, covering it up just in front of the Ryle player. Keeper Ryle player arivves a half second after Boone goalie and his legs are taken out. Right behind him is the Boone player who goes down like a domino and lands on Ryle kid and Boone Keep. He did not contact Ryle player until after Keep had ball and Ryle player ran into Keeper. Boone player got the red card. He could not have avoided running into the Ryle player. He did not trip the Ryle player. Only thing I can think of is that the ref thought he used too much force when he landed on Ryle player. I mention that because the red card does not indicate dirty play or poor sportsmanship in this case. Coach got his message through with 5 day suspensions on 4 or 5 players who had red cards earlier. OK, got that out of the way.

 

The Boone player that was injured in the Campbell County game is out. He cannot go to school for one or two weeks, as I understand it. He will not play for the rest of his senior season. His high school soccer career is over. Hopefully, he continues to heal nicely. This player is one of Boone's top playmakers. He provides lots of hustle, ability to handle ball in traffic, and good rapport on the field with Mayberry. I still pick Boone to win. Someone will step up and Boone defense is solid.

Yes, there were 3 days in early August that it was prestine.

Another idea oldgrappler... keep your expectations low, think backyard soccer, and then it will not seem quite so bad when you see it in person.

That is an interesting call flops&hacks... I think the outside mids are still TBD... but I like your thinking.

I do not really care why the player saw red, I am not judging, I am just saying that he is out. As for the other player, that is terrible to hear. I hope the kid gets well, my thoughts go out to him.
