flops&hacks Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 Holy Cross peaking at the right time..... Do they stand a chance in district play? Do I hear coach of the year for Mr. Groneck? They obviously have a few guys that can score and aren't giving up many goals. We don't hear much chatter about them, anybody know anything about this team?????
Oldtimebaseball84 Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 I think District depends on the draw. Not playing seeding games in this one could possibly hurt HC the most...IMO. Anyone can beat anyone on any day.......but let's say the draw gives us CCH/HC and Holmes/Latin first game match ups. Holmes or Latin are guaranteed to move to Regional play. to me, the best two are CCH and HC.......in my scenario above, one doesn't advance.
Yellow Card Posted October 2, 2014 Author Posted October 2, 2014 I am not sure about the peaking at the right time theory, 2 wins in their last 7 matches does not really support this, the two wins were over St Patrick and Pendleton Co. District Play - I think HC moves onto Regionals as long as they get a good draw, Latin or Holmes. Coach of the year??? 6 wins on the season to date (Villa (2), Gallatin Co, Calvary, St Pat, and Pendleton Co) I think they would need to get to double digits for him to enter the conversation. I think their goals scored is a little misleading, I think you need to look at the teams they are playing. They have put up 37 goals this season, 27 of these came in 4 matches. I would agree that the defense seems to be doing pretty well, giving up just over a goal a match, this average is also helped by a number of shutouts this season.
flops&hacks Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 Are they drawing from a hat? Oh my bad, I just saw that they handled Pendleton, thought they might be peaking.
