Yellow Card Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 No details but it looks like there was a nice battle in Kenton Co tonight.
Oldtimebaseball84 Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 (edited) Looks like goals by Morgan, Treadway (3)........Schneider had one assist and apologies that I cannot remember the other (as reported on Riherds.) Same offense as we have been hearing from, so expected.......A little surprising on Seay giving up 3 ....no offense intended SK.........can anyone provide details? Yellow Card Posted September 30, 2014 Author Posted September 30, 2014 I think that Morgan also had an assist. I was also very surprised to see SK put three on the board against Seay, he was pretty impressive when I saw him on Saturday. I did some checking and saw that Selimovic had 2 and Own Goal had the other. I am betting that Seay did not account for his own teammate when defending his goal. I would like to know how they got the other two past him, he has very good coverage if you try to go straight at goal.

Don't be so surprised about a keeper's performance... pick a corner and they can't get to it.

unbiasedcoach Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 No details but it looks like there was a nice battle in Kenton Co tonight. Being a alum I couldn't miss this game... great rivalry match. Here are the details on the goals. First... the game was well played. Nothing dirty and the ref was quick to set the tone early on in the game. First goal was SK's off a corner kick. Ball was swung in, near side post came off his line and missed it. Went right into CJ's chest and into the goal. Didn't even see it coming. Scott was quick with the over the top balls trying to find Treadway and Schneider. Found Treadway out to the left with SK's defender closing quickly. Foul was committed just outside the box yet landing on the inside (IMO), but Scott was rewarded a PK. Morgan buried it. SK quickly regained composure out possessing Scott for the majority of the first half. The middle was wide open and Treadway/Schneider were not working hard to defend SK's backs as they were outlets in their possession. A lot of quick passes and movement off the ball led to a shot around the 18 by Selimovic... left side netting. SK continued to possess the ball and Scott was quick to counter when they regained possession. Treadway had a couple of early chances on with break aways into the box. Hunter (SK's keeper) did a good job coming out early and cutting off the angles quick. Treadway shot just wide on each occassion. Selimovic had another opportunity in the first half. Beating two defenders on the sideline he was fouled and rewarded a PK. It was not a very well struck by Selimovic and CJ had no problem saving it. Momentum in SK's favor they went into half time with a 2-1 lead, but missing out on the opportunity of a 3-1 lead. Second half was a little different. Scott came out harder. Retained a lot more possession and trying to find the seams versus dumping it over the top. Possession in their favor for most of the half. In doing so they found Treadway again. He was fouled in the box. No doubt it was in the box this time. Treadway stepped up and burried the PK. Third goal was a "did that just happen moment." SK off the start, passes back very lazy, Scott intercepts it. Treadway is on the lose cuts to the right across the 18 and has some space. Pulls the trigger acrossed his body and puts it far side netting. Beautiful shot/finish. Scott up 3-2. Later, Treadway finishes another in the box. Ball was served in, bounced around, SK couldn't clear it, and Treadway roofed it. No chance for the keeper. Scott up 4-2. SK appeared to wake up the last 10-15 minutes, regaining possession and putting Scott under pressure again. Dahlian had pulled out Treadway at this point obviously trying to avoid his second yellow so they didn't have the offensive threat up top with him and Schneider. In the final minute SK is fouled about 20 yards outside the box. On the free kick, wall set up to defend the near post (obviously), Selimovic curls it over the ball and puts it in the net on the near side. Very well struck and a nice finish. Final seconds and SK is putting all the pressure on Scott. Selimovic is on the lose and is fouled almost in the identical spot of Treadway from the first half (yes... IMO outside the box) and awarded another PK. Selimovic wanted redemption. Steps up, stutter step, and hits it over the cross bar. About 20 seconds later the whistle blows. Well played... hard fought match. A tale of two halves and missed PK's. Both keepers played extremely well. Both were challenged multiple times and had their fair share of impressive saves.
unbiasedcoach Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 Normally, I would tend to agree with this theory but I watched Seay cover the corners on Saturday. One game doesn't make a season. He's a very good keeper. Just saying don't be so surprised.
Yellow Card Posted September 30, 2014 Author Posted September 30, 2014 Nice recap of the match. Has to be tough to lose by a goal after missing out on 2 PK chances.
