First of all, I can't believe the weather we're getting at the end of September. Campbell County put in for a first rate day and the request was granted.

Boone opened the scoring early when Suarez found net on a feed from Mayberry. The 1-0 score held till half time. Boone came out in the second half and seemed to be controlling play but CC mounted an attack and there was a break down in the defense and CC capitalized with a goal of their own. Mayberry soon headed one in on a corner by Griffin. Boone 2 CC 1.

BC had several scoring opportunities that they didn't capitalize on. One such play resulted in two players down and a serious injury to BC player. Mayberry played the ball down in the corner and made a perfect cross just in front of the goal. Suarez for Boone went high to head it in. He and a CC player met at the apex of their arc and slammed heads with full force. Both players lay on the field. Suarez didn't move for awhile. Coaches and trainers ran out to attend to both players. CC player got up and recovered first. After a long while Suarez was helped off the field and had the attention of coaches and trainers on the side line when the match resumed. An ambulance arrived and took Suarez to a medical facility to be looked at. I don't know any details beyond what I described here. He was sitting up as he was hauled by Gaitor to the awaiting ambulance. Athletics aside, please pray for his recovery.

Play resumed and Boone dictated play. Boone threatened on several throw-ins, at one point taking four in a row. They would bounce off of CC and out of play. Gascon can throw the ball a loooong way and give his teammates the opportunity to head the ball into the net.

Mayberry scored Boone's final goal on a pass ahead from Thamann. Mayberry knows how to finish an attack. Kudos to the Boone defense for making it really difficult on CC offense. Boone does not play again until Oct 2 against Cooper.

Good luck to the Camels from CC with the remainder of their season. Let's hope EVERYONE stays healthy!

BTW, thanks to Boone twitter feed for details about scoring
