NKY Coaches' Poll Week 2

Featured Replies

Still only 7 coaches voted. It's apparent some coaches don't pay much attention to results. Didn't Scott beat Ryle? Highlands at #7?

Others: Campbell County 7, Conner 1

At least more than the 5 that voted last week. Other than BB garnering a first place vote, I think they are all just about where they should be ranked at this point in the season.

Maybe BB is getting the first place vote that Highlands has been receiving the past two weeks, we could have a pro-Campbell Co. voter on our hand. I am not sure how this vote is justified, I believe that BB was sitting at 1-1 when the votes would have been placed and their win was over Oldham County, and the loss was to KCD.

I must say that giving NCC a first place nod could be justified with their 5-1-1 start, this would still support my pro-Campbell Co. theory and the vote would be much more deserved.

Its like a game of Clue... my money is on Colonel Mustard.

NCC has a very respectable team. Looks to me like #7 is their best player (sorry I don't know names). He handles the ball quite well but could not get free from Boone defense. NCC spaces out well and passes well but the two times I have seen them play they could not score from active play in the field. They relied on PK's in the box. I would be concerned about their ability to score goals if I was a fan. Perhaps they have been able to score against other teams (I am too lazy to check). It could just be a matter of match ups. Sometimes a team will match up with another team well and it becomes an even game. Boone v NCC has yielded two 1-1 ties this season.

I really enjoy NKY soccer because it seems like a lot of teams are competitive which keeps it interesting from week-to-week. Then who knows what can happen in the Regionals?

Here is some research for you...

I think #7 is Lious.

NCC has played 8 matches, posting 17 goals, of these, 12 goals came from 3 lopsided wins... You might be onto something.
