FAIRDALE KINGS
Southern beats Moore 8-6 as they block a 30-yard FG attempt with :12 remaining in the game. Questionable block in the back negates a Moore kickoff return for a TD to start the second half. The Mustangs had a convoy of 6 players to block one player and he turned his back and fell down right in front of the blockers... and draws the penalty without ever being touched. The Trojans were turned away 3 times inside the 10-yard line by a very stingy defense. But after Moore stopped Southern's first drive of the second half at the one-yard line... they immediately gave up a safety. The game was marred by several interruptions in play due to cramps from the heat.
Ham Bone
Aren't both teams installing new offenses? If that blocking penalty is true, that's got to sting. Southern will struggle in their district if they're squeaking by Moore. Have heard Moore has a solid Middle School program. If they can keep the talent in the building it can bode well for their future.
