LOUISVILLE, Ky. —High school football season is less two weeks away, and one local team is looking to repeat as state champs.

The Collins Titans have found a ton of success in just a short time as a football program, and after beating Highlands in the class 4A state title game last year, expectations are high.

The Titans are looking to repeat as class 4A state champs in just their five season as a program and they realize they have a tough road ahead of them.

“You're going to be everybody's Super Bowl now. You're the team now that you have to understand what comes along with being a championship level program,” said Coach Jerry Lucas. “Everybody is going to be fired up week in and week out to play us. We understand that, but we feel like we can be strong on the offensive side and I think we have one of the best kickers in the state. Our special teams can be really good. You know I feel like we are going to have a shot to be really successful,” said Lucas.

LOL, welcome to our world...

Let me know the pressure and intensity after you have won 20+, :thumb:

Coach Lucas talks about it being "everybodys Superbowl"

Well people in the state of KY have been gunning for Highlands for 100 yrs now...some have won the "Super bowls" some have gotten their "banquet wins" and the hardest part is to repeat it.

Good luck to the Titans this yr and here's hoping for a repeat matchup and a "superbowl" win for Highlands as we owe you one. :thumb:

The better team won in 2012 and the better team won in 2013.

My guess is the better team will win in 2014 and the probability that it will be either Highlands or Collins has the odds against them...
