Saturday's 11th Region Showcase (3/22 @ 11 am)

College Coaches! Get more from your trip to Rupp Arena and the Sweet Sixteen!

Lexington’s Charlotte Court AAU program invites all college coaches to join us for a free Showcase of our talent: Saturday morning, March 22, at 11 AM.

Watch our graduating seniors work out at the historic Dunbar Community Center (545 North Upper St.; Lexington, KY 40508).

Our graduating seniors have been in our program for years with many tournament wins to their credit. They all starred for their schools this year. In fact, we won’t know our complete showcase roster till the last minute, because several of our kids are playing in the Sweet 16!

Join us for coffee and donuts at 11 AM. We’ll work the boys out for you and finish up about 12:15. The Dunbar Center is two blocks from the Transylvania University campus, for those of you who want to be at Transy at 1 PM. Private meetings available at your request.

Directions:

Dunbar Center, 545 North Upper St, between 5th and 6th streets.

North Upper is one-way going South, From Rupp/Campus use Lime/Limestone going North and turn left on Sixth, then left on Upper.

From the North use Broadway inbound and turn left on Sixth St., then right on Upper.

Note: Do not confuse Dunbar center with the new Dunbar high school, they are nowhere near each other. Dunbar Community Center is the old (original) Dunbar High School from back in the day. Showcase will take place in the original gym where S.T. Roach and the great Dunbar teams made history. Don’t miss it!

The above is a flyer that was passed along to me earlier in the week. It looks like it's going to be a VERY solid event with lots of top competition. I know some of the names in the 11th that will be there, and will post more info on them later as the rosters take shape. Should be a fun day of basketball and is something that, as a fan of the 11th, I'm definitely looking forward to seeing.

Those are some names for some of the Lexington area kids that will most likely be playing on Saturday.

Thank you JokersWild24 for posting this. We’ve never done this before and hope if it works we can make it a regular event to tie in with the Sweet 16 semis. Hope a few interested coaches make it over! We have at least 4 kids with multiple offers, so it should be worth the time.

Should know our final roster by tomorrow and will try to put it up here if there’s interest. We’re disappointed our Fleming Co boys lost last night to Scott Co. (great game guys!) but hopeful that now they can join us Saturday. Darion Burns, Austin Crisp, and Troy Steward from Fleming are part of our team. Also Shawn Johnson from Mason Co and Will Henderson from West Jessamine. Plus all those you mentioned above.

Someone did call the Dunbar Center today so your post generated some interest, thanks. They really don’t have any details over there. Anyone with a question should call coach Reese at 859-552-6752 or message me and I’ll get it to the right person for you.

I'm pumped to see it. Plenty of kids in the 11th don't get to State, but can still play. I'll be there to provide a full breakdown on the kids for our readers.

Ordered tons of coffee and donuts, sure hope we get some coaches or I’ll be living on caffeine and sugar all week.

Confirmed roster at this point:

Daquice Allen, Bryan Station

Troy Black, Dunbar

Lance Blakley, Lafayette

Austin Crisp, Fleming Co.

Vince Davis, Dunbar

Robert Dence, Lexington Catholic

Xavier Piersawl, Montgomery Co.

Marcellous Washington, Bryan Station

All our kids weren't available, we’ve got one in the all-star game at Transy, one at a track event, one on an academic trip. But still have all the ones listed above, they all got their share of headlines this year. We'll fill in with a couple of our juniors and alumni and keep it active and competitive. Hope a couple of deserving coaches strike gold!
