With another week of high school basketball come and gone, this is a week that every one in Kentucky wants to forget about as mother nature forced a lot of games to be canceled and some rescheduled. Here’s a look at some of the games that took place throughout the 3rd region.

1. Owensboro Catholic wins 3rd region All-A classic:

Although they played a game in the 3rd region All-A classic last week, the Aces played two games this week. Owensboro Catholic would defeat Whitesville Trinity in the semi-Finals and they would go on to play and defeat McLean County in the championship game.

Owensboro Catholic will play Newport Central Catholic on Thursday at 1 PM in the first round of the Touchstone Energy All-A Tournament at the Frankfort Civic Center.

Owensboro Catholic goes to 10-6 and will host Grayson County on Monday.

2. McLean County goes 1-1 with upset over Butler County:

McLean County got to play two games last week both in the 3rd region All-A classic at Butler County High School. McLean County has been known to upset people as they upset the region favorite Owensboro on opening night of the season, McLean County would do repeat the same thing when they upset Butler County in the 3 region All-A semi-finals to advance to the finals of the 3rd region All-A classic, where they’d fall to Owensboro Catholic 54-41.

McLean County goes to 8-10 and will travel to Owensboro on February 1st.

3. SportsCenter Shootout at Owensboro SportsCenter:

Owensboro’s SportsCenter was the host to it’s annual SportsCenter shootout on January 25th.
