We’re half way through the season and it’s that time for the All “A” Classic in each region. Let’s take a look at the 15^th Region All “A” Preview. Eastern KY Expo Center is the site for this All “A” Classic.

 

The girls bracket is the same date and venue as the boys. Bracket, however is different.

 

We’ve already had 3 games that have been played. Sheldon Clark defeated Allen Central 57-41…Paintsville defeated Phelps 89-69…Pikeville defeated South Floyd 73-63.

 

 

Semi-Final:

Paintsville vs. Pikeville:

Paintsville: The Tigers come in at 4-6 and average 60 points per game. The Tigers got to the semi-final by defeating the Phelps Hornets 89-69. The Tigers will be led by Lane Daniels and Quinton Hensley.

 

Pikeville: The Panthers come in at 5-8 and average 68 points per game. The Panthers got to thesemi-final by defeating South Floyd 73-63. Pikeville will be led by Gaige Ray and Blaine May.

Massey Prediction: Pikeville 60-58

 

Outcome: This is game that could go right down to the wire, and the winner will be whoever wants it more.

 

 

Quarter-Finals:

Shelby Valley vs. Sheldon Clark:

The first of two meetings between these two.

 

Shelby Valley: The Wildcats come in at 11-3 and average 72 points per game. They will be led by Tyler Carr who averages 24 points per game. Sheldon Clark got here by defeating Allen Central 57-41.

 

Sheldon Clark: The Cardinals come in at 10-2 and average 60 points per game. They will be led by Trevor Blackburn and Chase Parsley.

Massey Prediction: Shelby Valley 61-54

Outcome: This is a game that could be another game that could go down the wire. Depends on who wants it more.

 

 

Betsy Layne vs. Piarist School:

Betsy Layne: The Bobcats come in at 11-2 and average 64 points per game. They will be led by Peyton Case and several others that can fill it up.

 

Piarist School: The Knights come in at 1-6 and average 55 points per game. They will be led by Stumbo Tyler (averaging 21 points per game) and Michael Williams (averaging 20 points per game).

Massey Prediction: Betsy Layne 88-30

 

Outcome: Betsy Layne defeated Piarist School 95-38 earlier in the year @ Piarist School…This game shouldn’t be any different.

 

The Possibility:

The huge possibility is that we could see a Betsy Layne vs. Shelby Valley game in the second semi-final on Saturday night. If that happens, that will be a game for everyone to go see, two of the top three teams in the 15^th region battling it out. Whoever wins that game (if it happens) will be the favorite to win the 15^th region All “A” Classic.
