Final from Berea.

Estill didn't play good at all. Somerset will play Madison Central at 9 AM Saturday.

Estill will play Bourbon County.

Nice win for the Jumpers. SHS has looked better the last 2 games. Somerset had balanced scoring by Ryan Dishman 15, Coldiron 13, Purcell 13, Spear 11, Tyler Dishman 9, Powell 7, Coomer 2. Sophomore Daniel Coldiron has looked good the past 2 games and has been one of the reasons SHS has 2 straight wins. The 6'7" forward is starting to develop a feel for the round ball after coming from the football field to the hardwood. With time he has the potential to turn into a really nice player. Coldiron plus freshman Logan Powell have been much needed sparks off of the bench for the Jumpers. But, the most impressive performance came from junior point guard Kenny Spear. He has taken over the point after Cheuvront's departure and I can't recall a turnover he has given up. SHS still has a very long ways to go but I can see what Coach Cothron is doing and come February they will be a competitive team in the region.

Glad to see Jumpers rebounding from graduation losses plus late arrival of football players. Their youth could help them go a ways. I am a bit dubious about the point guard having zero turnovers after six games though.

I'm only talking about the last 2 games. Cheuvront quit after the 4th game of the season to focus on football at the next level.

Congrats Somerset with a nice win.
