No Champs in 2012

 

After the KHSAA delivered sanctions that stripped Fairview of all its wins from 2012, the EKC has decided to strip Fairview of the 2012 championship according to EKC Assistant Commissioner Tim Carper.

 

Carper said the record books will show there will be no champion that year.

 

“After the KHSAA made their ruling concerning Fairview High School, they had to forfeit every game,” Carper said. “Five of those wins were EKC wins. So the Football Committee talked about it, and we thought the only fair thing to do was to strip them of the EKC title.”

:thumb: There was really no other choice.

A lot of teams in EKC don't play each other anyway, don't really see how they can crown a champ period. But right decision.

I agree, I know that Raceland and Lewis Co. were named EKC CO Champs, the two do not play one another. I don't think anyone can honestly say that Lewis is as good or better than Raceland, they're not. Raceland wouldn't have the number of ekc games they do if not for a couple of district opponet's (Fairview, Nicholas) also being a conference opponent. Winning the district is what its all about and bc Raceland plays the best out/distict schedule possible (Ashland, Ironton, Coal Grove OH., Lawrence, Russell (before they dropped the series after 5 consecutive losses), etc. ) that doesn't leave room for a full conference schedule.
