If you are playing where I think you are, there are specific rules about what defenses are allowed and what are not. Were you asked to deviate from this?

I agree, any time the score is kept or there is a post-season tournament, people get caught up in the win-loss side of the things. I watch these teams play, and 2 (maybe 3) girls benefit from the style of play. The other girls just stand their with their hands up. There are specific rules in regards to the style of defense that can be played in order to promote fundamentals, but apparently those have now changed.
