St Xavier 2013/2014

Featured Replies

Basketball season for 2013/2014 should provide another exciting year. What should we expect from St. Xavier? Remember, please be constructive.

They're going to miss Brock Kiesler. He was a serious obstacle between potential scorers and the basket.

Robert Shaw has a nice game and will be their biggest scoring threat again this season.

Last year, X and Male were about neck-and-neck in the 26th district... I think X is going to have a tougher time this year.

They host Central (a team that lost a lot of guys from last year and who I expect will take a step back) right out of the gate on Dec. 3.

Junior Tre Burgess and sophomore William Olsen will be huge contibuters to this years Tiger Squad.

Ashanti Burgess will step into a starting position and along with Robert Shaw, will give X a quick and tough backcourt. Sophmoore William Olsen will see a lot of action at the wing and has a nose for the ball as well as a nice shooting touch. Andrew Marquess will occupy the center position and has a lot of work ahead of him to follow 6'9" Kiesler.

Tigers lost 4 starters from last year but should have a competitive squad this year.

I've heard that Charles Walker is not playing basketball this year. Any knowledge of that?

As things stand now, he will probably forego basketball.

Tigers will be playing Lex. Henry Clay at Dunbar on Saturday nite.
