Trinity Insider: Week of November 1

Featured Replies

The Shamrocks (4-4) final regular season game is with the Archbishop Moeller Crusaders. Trinity hosts the once beaten Crusaders (8-1) on Harry Jansing Field at Marshall Stadium this Friday evening. The kickoff set for 7:30PM. The Crusaders (3-0 & GCL South Champions) lost to the St. Edward Eagles 45-42 in Cleveland this past Saturday. Trinity had the week off after their “historic” 24-14 loss to Male. Moeller’s victories were over Indianapolis Pike, Covington Catholic, St. Michael’s (Toronto, Canada), Louisville St. Xavier, Cincinnati St. Xavier, LaSalle, Elder, and Indianapolis Cathedral.

Past Opponents: Male dropped a 32-29 decision to arch rival Manual to spoil their undefeated season. The Bulldogs host Christian Academy of Louisville this Friday evening. St. Xavier stands at 5-4 after defeating Manual 24-23 two weeks ago. The Tigers had the week off and play host to Cincinnati St. Xavier (5-4) this Friday night. Indianapolis Cathedral stands at 5-5 after recording a 54-26 first round playoff win over Decatur Central. They take on Zionsville in Indianapolis in second round action on 11/1. Colerain remained undefeated (9-0) with a 49-10 win over Middletown. The Cardinals travel to Oak Hills, OH this week. Lawrence Central fell to 3-7 after their 14-0 loss to Warren Central (IN). The loss ended the Bears season. Carmel defeated Hamilton Southeastern 40-7 in their first round game 40-7 to improve to 7 -3. The Greyhounds host Fishers this week. Nashville Ensworth raised their record to 8-0 with a 16-9 win over Baylor (5-4) of Chattanooga. The Tigers play at Brentwood Academy (6-3) on November 1.

Future Playoff Opponents: Eastern (3-4) must defeat Manual (7-2) to avoid playing at Trinity in the first round. If District 4 sweeps district 5, the Crimsons of Manual (7-2) will visit St. Matthews in round 2. The St. Xavier (5-4) at Male (8-1) survivor will be the third round opponent.

Trinity Tidbits: Trinity’s Freshmen and JV teams remained undefeated this season with victories over Central last week. The Freshmen Rocks (8-0) host the Crusaders of Moeller (5-2) on Saturday morning at 11:00AM. The JV Rocks (7-0) travel to Cincinnati to battle the Moeller JV (7-2) squad at 11:00AM.

There is a Chili Supper hosted by the Rocks Wrestling team prior to the Moeller varsity game.

Good job. Thank you.
