Comments:

Key players for Conner were QB Boyd and RB Peyton Weil. Conner's line controlled the line of scrimmage in this game and that is where they won the game. Conner's defense was very disciplined and good across the board. I was impressed with Conner overall.

I know many have asked about Boyd on the site. Here is my view. Boyd did a good job running the read option. He was a little shaky passing the ball. He needs to hit the camps and work hard on the passing game if he wants to continue play QB. I don't know who Conner has before and after him at QB, but based on what I saw tonight I see him more as WR or RB than a QB. But with the read option offense, he could stay at QB, be run first and keep working on his passing game. I do not see him playing varsity QB next year unless there is big improvement or Conner just doesn't have an upperclassman who is capable.

For Beechwood, they really could not get much of anything going all night. The Tigers were outsized and the backs seldom had any room to run. The Beechwood defense was bend but don't break for most of the night but the Cougars wore them down at the end. Beechwood's standout player on defense was Lucas Benson. Offensively, QB Aidan Justice is very quick. RB Blake Wilson is not big but runs hard and has pretty good speed.

This score surprises me a little. I thought the Tigers would win out to get over .500 for the season. Is this the lowest point total of the season for Beechwood freshmen? I think it might be.
