Series at Franklin-Simpson: Franklin-Simpson leads 14-1

Before Franklin-Simpson's decline at the beginning of the 2000's, they probably never gave Warren East a second thought. They won the first 11 games between the two programs and held a 23-2 series lead after 2005. Since, the series has been a little streaky. The Raiders won 4 straight against the Wildcats, including their only victory at Shadetree in the history of the series. The Wildcats followed that with four straight wins of their own, but the 25-22 win they scraped out in 2011 (a year in which they played for the state title) seemed to indicate the tide was changing again. And boy did it, with the Raiders taking a 43-0 victory last year at home. But playing in Franklin has always seemed to be the kryptonite for the Raiders. They scored 34 points in that 2007 win, the only time they've scored above 22 points there. In fact, Franklin-Simpson has held Warren East to 14 points or less at Shadetree Stadium in 12 of the 15 meetings there.

Of course, those teams didn't have Eli Brown. Brown has rushed for 885 yards on the year and scored 11 TDs on the ground. That's to go along with his dominance on the defensive side of the ball. The Raiders have scored at least 20 points in all but two games this year - those two games being against the best two teams on their schedule South Warren and Meade County. Meanwhile Franklin-Simpson enters at 2-4, and have scored above 16 points only once, against hapless Logan County. The Wildcats are still struggling to regain their footing after that strong 2011 season.

Franklin-Simpson 21-20.
