St. Xavier 23 Central 6 (Freshmen)

Central scored on a 57 yard fumble return late in the game.

 

St. X took advantage of two short field situations after lousy punts and an errant pitch into their own end zone by the Yellowjackets (recovered for a TD by X after several Central players attempted to pick it up) to put up 17 points in the first quarter.

 

Austin Eisert QB, Anteneh Thompson RB, Desmond Ridder QB, & Christian Thompson WR were the standouts on offense for the Tigers. The St. Xavier defense did a magnificent job of gang tackling so no individual players stood out to this average fan.:popcorn:

 

The next game for the St X freshmen will be next Thursday at Paul M Young Field versus the Shamrocks of Trinity.:thumb:

I usually catch the Tigers when the Rocks are off.

I was happy to speak with Coach Mike Glaser yesterday. He was good for the rivalry. His feelings about Trinity's existence really run deep! :thumb:
