Series at Barren County: Warren Central leads 8-1

 

Both teams open up their district slates when the Dragons invade Glasgow to take on Barren County. The Dragons have won 11 straight in the series, with none of them producing a result closer than 22 points. Barren County's last victory in the series was also their only home win ever against Warren Central, a 20-6 win in 1998, the final game for legendary head coach Joe Hood. The Dragons have scored 28+ in every win during the current streak with eight performances of 50+ point totals. The Trojans have only once topped 8 points during the win streak.

 

Last week the Dragons got their crucial first win of the year in dominating fashion, scoring 36 points in the first quarter en route to a running clock 49-14 victory over North Hardin. It was the first of what appears to be three games the Dragons will be favored in, and a boon to the confidence of the team. Meanwhile, Barren County appears improved over last year, but their season is currently tracking the same way. They opened with a victory in 2012 followed by losses for the rest of the year. This year, they opened with a victory, and have dropped their next three decisions. They have battled, trailing by only a single point to Monroe County at halftime before falling 29-14.

 

Warren Central has not lost a district game to a team besides Bowling Green since a 21-13 loss to Grayson County in 2009.
