Rams' senior line dominant

RACELAND — There wasn’t one reason why Raceland pounded Greenup County 55-18 on Friday night.

 

There were five of them.

 

The Rams’ senior-dominated offensive line — tackles Alec Risner and Mac Boggs, guards Austin Manis and Nevan Johnson and center Lucas Bradley — proved to be the difference.

 

Raceland’s fast-break football hardly gave the Musketeers a chance to catch their breath as the run-and-fun offense piled up 479 yards on 53 plays.

 

“We want to play as fast as we can,” said Rams coach T.J. Maynard.

Nice to see some "Lineman Love".

They certainly deserve it. I watched this one on the t.v. replay. last night and can say Raceland's O and D lines are imo the most dominant/best that I have ever seen play at Raceland. The 1975 Rams w/ Rams H.O.F. Mike Mills and Tim Rose, Jerry Barnes and others was a great one but I believe that this one is probably better. Last night GCHS had absolutely no answer for the line on either side of the ball, was the same vs. East C., Boyd Co. and for the most part Ashland. I think that more than one of these kids will get notice and be able to play on the next level should they want to. Risner was a Beast last night, all over the field and when he hit someone they stayed hit. I noticed a couple of times that Risner ran down the back from the opposite side of the line he was on and tackle them for a loss.

All of these guys...Risner, Johnson, Manis, Boggs and Bradley could open up their own breakfast restaurant .....they roll out more "Pancakes" than I-Hop ! :eek:

One of the coaches that watched the game film last night texted the linemen and told them "there were a lot of pancakes and he was proud of them".
