Jackson County 2013/2014

Featured Replies

Basketball season for 2013/2014 should provide another exciting year. What should we expect from Jackson County ? Remember, please be constructive.

Army commit Jordan Fox is back, and that alone will be something that gives them a chance to win a lot of games.

Rumors were that Isiah Collier from Pulaski Southwestern transferred in, but there's recently been some talk he could end up at a different school as well-- but it appears to be just that. For now, I think it's safe to assume that he'll be enrolled at Jackson County next year.

With talk that McDaniel has left Clay County to enroll in a school to focus on golf, and with the move of Tyler Miller from Harlan County to Harlan Independent, the name of the game in the 13th this year might not be so much about whose brought in so far, but who teams hold onto.

Trying to rank teams in the 13th this offseason has definitely been a roller coaster. At this point in time, it looks like things are more of the same from past off-seasons in the 49th with another most seeing a 3-way battle between Clay County, North Laurel, and Jackson County that will only see two go on to region, one of which could see a tough first round game. The district is at Clay County this year.

With Fox and Collier, I could see Jackson County having the talent in place to make a nice run in the All A in the 13th. With the shake up at the top of the region given defections from Clay County and Harlan County, they are also in the mix to win region with Knox Central (probably now the favorite) and Bell County (young team, but could be a dark horse).
