Breaking Camp: Lawrence's Goble a fullback who brings 'fire'

LOUISA — On paper, Lawrence County senior Ricky Goble’s size doesn’t exactly strike fear into the hearts of other teams.

 

Standing at just 5-foot-7 and weighing 195 pounds, the best way to describe the fullback’s body frame is like a bowling ball.

 

That’s exactly how he is always described by Lawrence County coach Joe Cecil, who enjoys watching his senior fullback carry the ball.

 

“He’s got a fire in him,” Cecil said. “Talk about your old throwback fullback — he’s your guy. He’s a physical kid, runs hard, likes the contact and lives in the weight room. And the most surprising thing is, he has good speed for a kid who is only 5-foot-7.”
