JV Championship- Beechwood vs. Ryle Predictions

Featured Replies

Don't have any exact stats, but I was expecting a pitching deul between Ziegelmeyer and Hyde. But both were roughed up for 4 runs. Then we saw a pitching deul between the two relievers. Ryle got a walk off double in the bottom of the 7th. What a fun game it was to watch! Congrats to the Tigers on a good season and congrats to the Raiders on an awesome win and season!

While Ziegelmeyer may not have been the sharpest he's been all season, he still pitched very well and did so on less than his normal rest between starts. He was victimized by a couple of fielding miscues by the Raiders' defense. Ultimately, both he and the Beechwood starter did a nice job in a very tense and tight championship game. Maybe not a "pitching duel", but not sure saying they were "roughed up" is necessarily accurate either.

Ziegelmeyer, a freshman, had nothing short of a stellar pitching season this year. He was also the one who hit the walk-off rope (and it was an absolute rope!) to end the game. His JV career is over and he will go on to great things his next three years for Ryle baseball. Congrats Zig!
