Can someone please tell me what the deal is when a team forfeits a game to another team and the score that's reported to KHSAA Scoreboard is something like 7-0, 9-0, etc. etc. everything besides 1-0...Does teams that forfeit actually show up and play and then forfeit or how does that work?

 

Like for instance (tonight's game between Atherton/Collegiate) Atherton won 7-0 on a forfeit by Collegiate, is that even possible? I've seen this being reported over the years and always wondered about it

One run officially scored for each inning. Same way in baseball.
