56th district championship on the girls side.

I would almost bet that Estill draws either Letcher or Perry in the first round...Seems to always happen. If they wanna make it out of the first round they best hope Wolfe beats Breathitt (Breathitt lead 35-34 after 3) and they draw Wolfe.

Good Luck to the Lady Pirates in region next week.

Nice sportsmanship shown by both teams on and off the court of tonight's game. Powell stood up and cheered Cater (Estill) as she got her award. Estill stood up and cheered as Rogers got her award.

Congrats to both teams on making it to the regional tournament and to Powell County and Coach Ken Jones on the district championship. Best of luck to both teams at region next week.

Estill did what they could to keep it close but when Powell inserted Lindon to cover Flynn the tide swung completely to the Lady Pirates. Rogers was named the MVP for the 2nd straight year and she played great. The entire team did well. Good luck to both Powell and Estill in the regional tournament.

Coach Ken Jones' 219th career win. 2nd straight district championship
