Wolfe County 62 Powell County 47

Recommended Posts

Good game from Campton, where it was the Wolves that got past the Pirates 62-47. Wolfe lead 18-16 after one, Wolfe then would outscore Powell 10-4 in the second frame to take a 28-20 halftime lead. Powell would come out and win the third frame 19-18 but trailed the Wolves 46-39 entering the fourth and final quarter. Wolfe would outscore the Pirates 16-9 to go on and win 62-47. Bradley Lawson (Wolfe) and Marshall Willouby (Wolfe) lead the Wolves with 17 each. Trey Marcum (Powell) lead the Pirates and all scorers with 18 including 4 trey's if I remember correctly. Austin Mullins added 10 for the Pirates. Wolfe improves to 14-12 and Powell drops to 8-17.

The Pirates got a scare at the end of the first quarter where both Pirate players Trey Marcum and Brett Goodwin were going after a rebound but hit heads hard. Both were laid out on the court. Marcum got back up on his own power and was able to come back into the game but Brett Goodwin had to be helped off the court where he was taken back into Wolfe County Coach Creech's office to be evaluated by the doctor/trainer. Goodwin would not return. Marcum however did return but had a huge pop knot on his head. If Goodwin can't come back before Monday's district game with the Wolves then that's bad bad news for the Pirates.
