What does Whitley County need to do to improve in 2013? What do they need to keep doing to be successful? Remember, please be constructive.

Whitley County upgraded the schedule (although they played a tough schedule last year). They graduated several good players including most of their line. They do have some good kids coming back and will be looking to exploit some speed that they have not had the past couple of years.

 

The BIG hole that will have to be filled is at linebacker and fullback with the graduation of Boston Bryant who will be playing at Wofford College in the fall. Fullback is the keystone to the offense at Whitley. Bryant was the leading tackler all four years he played, setting a school records for total tackles in a season and career.

 

Looking forward to seeing some old rivals back on the schedule.

 

If the line comes along and kids play to the level that they are capable of, it should be a decent season for the Colonels. A lot of pressure will be on Bobby Gibbs the offensive line coach and OC. They do have a couple of new kids who will help out and some young kids will be called upon to step up and play early. Being in a four team district takes some pressure off but you still want to be the Champ or runnerup so you can be at home for the playoffs. I think that is possible but there is a lot of work to do.
