For the 2nd year in a row the Breds are again runners-up. Congrats to George and the entire coaching staff, as well as, to the young ladies on this team for playing an excellent tournament. Trust me when I say you have made ALL NewCath fans proud by your effots this weekend. With ZERO seniors on this team there is no question they will be back again next year.

 

Becca Greenwell was a killer on the defensive glass (14 rebs.), Stephanie Lewis did a wonderful job on her, but Greenwell is just that good. Breds take a quick 6-0 lead, but OC goes ahead as the quarter comes to a close. The Breds find themselves down 8 in the 2nd and close within 1 at 27-26 with :22 left in the half. In the 3rd the Breds are down 6 at 32-26, but Stephanie Lewis scores 5 quick pts. and after an OC free throw pushes the score to 33-31, Loren Zimmerman ties it with a bucket at the 5:02 mark. This would be the last tie of the game. The Breds are down 48-42 with 1:20 left in the game, but can't get it any closer.

 

Congrats to Stephanie Lewis, Alexus Mayes, & Nicole Kiernan on being named to the All-Tourney Team.

You are correct she is on the roster, but she was done for the season before it started because of a knee injury. Feel bad for the young lady to miss out in her senior year.
