Final

Estill survives Whitley. Engineers hosted the Whitley County Colonels on Tuesday night at "Engineer Arena" as some call it. Estill lead 15-10 after 1, Whitley came out firing in the second quarter putting up 22 points as they outscored Estill 22-13 in the second and took a 32-28 halftime lead. Estill lead by 1 after 3 (44-43). 4th quarter went down to the wire. Estill had their chances to win it in regulation but missed free throws and they had the ball with right around a minute to go and held it that entire minute until about 6 or 7 secs left and they threw it away with 4 seconds left, Estill stole Whitley's inbounds pass but the Engineer player stepped out of bounds his self giving the ball back to the Colonels with 2 secs left, Estill forced Whitley to throw the ball inbounds at mid court where an Estill player fought with with a Whitley player for the ball as the horn sounded and the game headed into OT tied at 56-56. OT was all Estill as they outscored Whitley 11-6. Engineers improve to 8-10 on the season and have a big big district game on Friday. Whitley goes to 5-13 and they will have South Laurel on Friday. I was really impressed with the way Estill's bench (the one's that got to play; Bishop, Dennis, Alexander) played tonight especially Michael Bishop who had to come in and take over the point for Randy King.
