statmanhensley Posted January 22, 2006 Posted January 22, 2006 Final. Rockcastle County improves to 8-10 on the season while Madison Southern falls to 12-6. Colby Brown, who needed 14 points going into the game, scored 26 to joined the 1,000 Point Club at THE ROCK. He went into the Club by draining a 3-pointer early in the 4th quarter. CONGRATS COLBY!!!!!!!!! :ylsuper: :ylsuper: :ylsuper: :ylsuper: Madison Southern simply could not hit many buckets after having an early 8 point lead. Rockcastle County also got 20 HUGE points off the bench tonight. Don't let me forget to mention how good Weston Riddle & J.C. McClure played in the post tonight. Coach Benny Blanton's Rockets pulled away late from a good Eagles team by making their free throw shots (29/36) while Southern was only 7 of 12. Brown hit 16 of Rockcastle County's 29 made free throws. Double digit scoring: Madison Southern Josey Cruse 16 Ty Robinson 14 Rockcastle County Colby Brown 26 Kyle Mullins 14 Coty Childress 12 Gabe Stallsworth 10
TrEyBaLlA20 Posted January 22, 2006 Posted January 22, 2006 The Rock is turning the season around they are starting to play good ball!
colonelfan2001 Posted January 22, 2006 Posted January 22, 2006 Rockcastle shot 35 free throws to Southern's 12. Southern did not play well at all. The ref's did not cost MS the game by any means, but they were two of the worst I've ever seen. They called a technical on MS coach for him yelling at his own player. He didn't say anything to the ref. They were terrible.

When one team has a 3 to 1 adv. in fouls and free throws. I talk to couple of people that did go to the game and they said it was bad at the calls that were made. The T that Sourherns' coach got was because he was getting on to his players and the offical must have know he was doing a horible job and T the coach. Did the officals cost Southern the game? Hard to say, but they did control the game and how which team was going to play and which team was not. I do know that Southern never got into the bonous the whole game. Southern has played better the last couple weeks and have time to get thing straighten out by district time. Good luck to Southern the rest of the season.
themansnowyriver Posted January 23, 2006 Posted January 23, 2006 I watched the Southern Clay game at Berea. Sounds like Southern got a taste of their own medicine.
themansnowyriver Posted January 23, 2006 Posted January 23, 2006 Didn't mean to imply that the refs were given too much credit in the Southern win, it just sometimes gets when out of region teams play at another region's home things happen.
