With recognition being given to players, it is time for some love for a lineman. Hopefully the attached hudl link works. These highlights are of Beechwood senior right guard/center Chad Evans. Chad was one of Beechwood's team captains and was a true leader of the team, on the field and in the locker room.

Chad played right guard the entire regular season. Beechwood's coaches knew they needed more speed at center for the playoffs and moved Chad to center. Chad had an excellent run in the playoffs at center highlighted by completely controlling Mayfield's very good noseman in the state semi-final game.

It is always hard to judge a lineman but there are plenty of knockdowns, pancakes and TD runs in this highlight reel. Some of the plays are just good examples of pass blocking, getting downfield, blocking multiple players on one play and others I left in the reel because they were plays against some of the better players in N. Ky. - Hemmer and Burchell of Cov Cath; Rust and Thacker of New Cath; etc.

Key stats:

• Lead blocker on 65% of Beechwood's running plays

• Lead blocker on 24 of 30 rushing TD's (80%)

• 36 knockdown and pancake blocks

Congratulations to Chad on an excellent senior season!

What is his size and is he getting any attention from colleges?

What is his size and is he getting any attention from colleges?

5'11" 235. No plans to play college football. He has academic scholarship offers he is considering that will determine where he attends college.

One more stat I forgot to include in the original post. Beechwood had 18 3rd or 4th down short yardage plays that were obvious running situations. On 14 of those 18 plays they ran behind Chad.

Congratulations to Chad on being named Honorable Mention OL on the Enquirer All N. Ky. team.

Congratulations also to the other Beechwood players mentioned on the team - Max Nussbaum, Corey Biddle, Taylor Overstreet and Miles Sletto.
