A game of quarters for CovCath! 1st quarter pretty good, 2nd quarter extremely good, 3rd quarter they stunk out the gym and the 4th, they did what they had to do, to get the win.

Newport had some rather big guys, maybe not in height but in overall size #45 Reynolds and #33 Covington gave the young Colonels fits at times but Newport best player overall clearly is #13 Snapp. Young Mr. Snapp is indeed a player and he led Newport with 14 points.

CovCath started off the 1at quarter by taking a 13-12 lead and just blew out Newport in the 2nd quarter by a 14-4 total behind #15 Flood but in the 3rd quarter the frosh of CovCath looked like they had never played the game, as Newport out scored the young Colonels by a score of 15-7 to make the game close. CovCath closed out the game by winning the 4th quarter by a score of 9-7 to secure their third victory of the season.

IMHO the stars of the game.

For Newport #13 Snapp who scored 14 points and I am going to put this young man on my radar to keep an eye on in the future.

For CovCath #23 Massie who had a whale of a 1st quarter and then helped calm down the Colonels at different points throughout the game.

With the victory over Newport, CovCath improves their record to 3-0 and next plays St. Henry in a triple header @ St. Henry on Tuesday Dec. 4th with the tip off at 4:30pm.

I've heard good reviews on Snapp.

Just curious, the younger Sullivan boy (Vance's brother) was an 8th grader at Newport last year and played frosh ball. Any idea if he is still in the Newport system or his whereabouts?

Congrats to both teams in a competitive game.

Snapp and Covington will likely get Varsity minutes as the year goes on, in fact I thought I read where Covington scored in the varsity game the other night vs Holmes.

Sullivan is back at Walton.
