5A #3 Warren Central / Logan County Predictions

These two teams enter the matchup coming off of uncommon results for them. The Dragons enter fresh off their first loss of the year, a crushing 24-0 blanking by #1 Bowling Green, while the Cougars secured just their second win against six losses in a 21-20 win over district foe Barren County. That win, their first district win since October 2nd, 2009 catapulted Logan County into the playoffs for the first time since that same year. They face a far tougher task in the Dragons which should be motivated after taking their third straight loss to the Purples on Senior Night.

 

The Dragons lead the series with the Cougars 9-2 and have won the last five, doing so by an average of 39.2 points per game. The Dragons have not failed to score less than 35 in any of those matchups. Logan County's last win over Warren Central was a 35-24 decision in October of 1998. This will the first time the two meet at Logan County since 2001. The Dragons are 4-1 at Logan County, outscoring the Cougars 209-45 there.

 

In short, the recent history, overall history, and track of the teams this season suggest Warren Central by as much as they want.
