gold sunrise Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 Basketball season for 2012/2013 should provide another exciting year. What should we expect from East Ridge ? Remember, please be constructive.
dolamite Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 Other than the coach, they didn't really lose anything from last years Regional Runner-Up team. A lot of people were upset with the dismissal of Preston Lemaster, but by replacing him with Randy McCoy I think ER gets a much more experienced coach and someone more capable of managing the unique blend of talent they have for a 15th region team. They have IMO what could be two of the best players in the region in PF Ray Kasongo and Soph. SG Johnny Miller. With a quick PG like Tony Wolter I think the ceiling is high for this team and I feel McCoy is much more capable of getting these guys in a system that flows. ER's biggest problem last year seemed to be lack of flow and continuity on offense, it was like a pick up game or something sometimes. Randy will bring that structure and that discipline and that is something you cannot under estimate.
gold sunrise Posted October 7, 2012 Author Posted October 7, 2012 Are they the favorite to win that region?
King James Posted October 7, 2012 Posted October 7, 2012 No, Johnson Central is the favorite as they return the entire team from last season's regional championship team...
dolamite Posted October 7, 2012 Posted October 7, 2012 Are they the favorite to win that region? No, Johnson Central is the favorite as they return the entire team from last season's regional championship team... Agreed. JC is the favorite coming in with top 75 recruit Shane Hall leading the way. You could argue Sheldon Clark could have been #2, but now that their coach and star player Justin Johnson fled to Perry Central I don't see them being a threat. Shelby Valley is young but they seem to always be around come tournament time and historically are by far the most dominant team in the region (last 15 years). Belfry has a nice post player in Jordon Messer but not sure if they're a top 3 team. IMO, as of right now it is 1.) JC, 2.) ER, 3.) everyone else.....

Anvil Head Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Tony Wolter has not attended one day of school this year. He is now scheduled to come back from Canada and play for East ridge? How does this happen? Shows we worry about academics first.

King James Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 Belfry has a nice post player in Jordon Messer but not sure if they're a top 3 team... Tony Messer.... And yes, he is a good player. He will likely be on the football field for a while though if Belfry has another extended playoff run...

We have an employee here at work named Jordon Messer so I am always seeing his name on my paperwork and some other things I have to do. But yeah football season will cause him to get a late start but when tournament time rolls around he should be clicking.
