Shelby Valley 2012/2013

Featured Replies

Basketball season for 2012/2013 should provide another exciting year. What should we expect from Shelby Valley ? Remember, please be constructive.

Guard play will again be a major question mark for Shelby Valley. Junior big man Cody Belter returns, along with talented sophomore Dalton Richardson. Sophomore forward Andrew Newsome is another returning starter. Depth is a question mark for the young squad, but being a contender in the 15th is not out of the question...

How has Belter developed? I remember there being a decent amount of hype following him when he was younger, and realize that bigs (especially those who have grown to that height at such a young age) will take a little longer to develop. How what are Belter's measurements now, how has his game progressed, and are there any smaller schools showing interest? You can't teach size, so I'd imagine that there are some area programs that are at least keeping tabs on his progression given the size he brings to the table.

Belter checks in at around 6'11"" and about 225 lbs. He has good instincts offensively and passes the ball well. His mobility has improved as he has added strength, but adding more strength would definitely be a plus defensively and on the post...
