The visiting Bearcats defeated Villa Madonna this afternoon after blowing the lid off in the fourth inning. It was tied 1-1 going into the top of the fourth, when Walton exploded for six runs. Villa responded with two in their half of the inning, but the Bearcats were having none of that. They blasted Villa for nine runs in the top of the fifth to finish the scoring at 16-3. The game was called at the conclusion of the fifth inning.

I have to brag (just a little ). I got to watch my nephew play in a varsity game for the first time today. It was his second start since being brought up from the reserves this week. He is an 8th grader, and we are really proud of how well he is doing this year. Tonight he went 2-4, but reached base a third time on a bobbled throw to first. He also had two RBIs. Had got in on a couple nice plays at his 3rd base position as well.

Oh, and the rest of the guys did pretty dang well too. :thumb:

I may have lost count on the above score. The paper had it at 15-3. Sorry about that.
