I went and watched Ryle play last week and let me just say. You don’t have to be athletic to play good defense. Unless you are playing for McFarland. He has big footed defenders playing a deny man to man and sort of a zone. Maybe a matchup zone? Every single possession they leave the lane wide open. Getting shots in the lane looks to be the easiest task I’ve seen. Then they hug the outside shooter once the ball pentrates the lane. There is no help at all. This is coaching and nothing else. They could line up and play a basic 2-3 and do better than what they’re doing. Offensively the players do not agree with their coach. McFarland called a team meeting and told the kids that the reason they lose is because of them. Cited kids not running the offense etc. It’s truly a shame what is going on there.

The current Junior and Senior class were successful in middle school. I think coaching has been an issue there for years. Someone above asked why the parents are upset. They’re upset because the boys are not wanting to play for a coach that doesn’t know how to treat them. There are kids currently playing all the minutes and their parents want them to transfer. Some of the kids that are walking the halls don’t want to switch schools. I really hope it works out for all parties involved. I really hope the players can find a chance to play the game they love.

That team has under achieved for several years. Not a single parent happy there. Albert Einstein is widely credited with saying, “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results.”

If Sullivan wants to have anything returning next year he’ll have to do it through Centers. I think he started in the scrimmage over the weekend if that mattered.

- Centers will definitely start for Cooper. - Diskin has been a great player his entire career just had to wait his turn. Possibly the most competitive kid in NKY. - The Mayer/Spencer comparison is silly. Their games are night and day different than each other. Just body size is similar. If you could put Spencer's skills into Mayer body, heart and motor you'd probably have the a Mr. Basketball Candidate. Don't forget that Spencer should be a 2020 kid also but he's so smart he's graduating a year early. - I don't see Draud being here yet. He's still young. - Has anyone fixed Ryle yet. Biggest mess of any school in the state.
