  1. They were called Du Pont Manual as I recall. I had the pleasure of playing HS ball for an assistant coach who came from that program. A Top-notch guy.
  2. Joker was awful--the worst. I remember they asked him before the season last year about his team and he said something like "uh, you know, we might be as good as last year, in places we are as strong as last year." How inspiring!!! And they sucked two years ago. Glad he is gone. Stoops is sitting in a great spot right now because none of the UK teams have had much inspiration to go better than 500 and get to a second rate bowl game. WKU won because Joker was outcoached and then made a lame excuse that WKU ran a trick play because they were playing an SEC team. Were they really? Didn't look like it. Sorry for venting but it is one thing to get beat but another to have never been in the game. PS: I agree that they will beat WKU easily this year.
  3. As I recall they had a nationally ranked squad back in the 1950s. I think they deserve consideration among the Cadillac foot ball teams.
  4. Maybe I Missed something, but what about these guys? This is from Wikipedia: "PTHS has won state titles in 1973, 1985, and 2009 with runner-up finishes in 1980, 1987–1989, and 1992. The football program has produced two Kentucky Mr. Football award winners, Kurt Barber in 1987 and Billy Jack Haskins in 1992. During the 2007 season, Tilghman won its 700th football game, beating Webster County 49-21 to become just the fourth team in Kentucky to reach this mark. Tilghman has fielded a football team since 1904,[1] with an overall record of 704-286-25 entering the 2009 season.[1] In the 2009 season, they won the AAA State Championship against the Somerset Briar Jumpers 21-0. They run a play called the doom dive."
  5. I would probably slip Boone County in there somewhere. No state championships but they have had some consistently good teams over the years.
  6. I would think that if you have an up and coming program that you would want to play the best teams available in order to improve. That said, if you have an average or sub-par program, you probably are not going to be able to get Trinity on your schedule because you are not good enough, and you will not improve by getting beat 70-0.
  7. Congrats! UT Chattanooga has had a powerhouse program for decades. Great school and great honor. Good luck!
  8. Say what you want about this guy. His remarks were inappropriate, but he is DEFINITELY NOT an idiot. He brought in about three billion to OSU over the last two to three years. OSU's tuition hikes, although substantial, were small potatoes compared to hikes at many schools that still have little to show for it.Basically, he got fired for making an off-color joke in the wrong surroundings. Who has never done that? If Gee is an idiot then I think many universities should be so fortunate to have such an imbecile at the helm.
