  1. I'd look for Manual to be in this mix, along with Ballard, of Public Schools challenging X & T.
  2. The coaching change at Station will be the difference in this game. With Dr. Oliver Lucas having moved on to Manual, Tates Creek should win this game .
  3. I could see Manual giving Trinity all they want in this game. Let's go with 35-31 Manual!
  4. DuPont Manual has a brutal schedule this year. Only Trinity's possibly may be stronger with St. X's 3rd. DUPONT MANUAL 2010 SCHEDULE @ Highlands (5A #1) vs. Fern Creek (6A #3) vs. Trinity (6A #2) vs. Colerain (Cincy, Ohio power) @ Central (3A #2) vs. Seneca vs. PRP @ St. X (6A #1) @ Butler @ Male (6A #8)
  5. Bryan Station has some talent back but they took a big hit when Coach Lucas left for Manual.
  6. Anyone know who might be in line for this job at Dunbar? http://www.kentucky.com/2010/04/29/1243150/dunbar-girls-coach-sowers-leaving.html
  7. Champ Ligon and his Bryan Station teams defeated Dunbar 17 straight times. I'm thinking this would have come to an abrupt end had Dunbar had the basketballs to hire Ligon.
  8. Heard that the Superintendent wouldn't let the Dunbar Principal interview Champ Ligon. He didn't want to embarrass the Bryan Station Principal by allowing Ligon to coach at Dunbar. This is the same Superintendent (Stu Silberman) that made the Bryan Station Principal (Gladys Peoples) hire Ligon back, after she fired him, so she could hire her friend Mike Allen. Fayette County Public Schools: What a God awful mess.
  9. Really, what's the source? If true, this would be the best move by Dunbar in a long time!
  10. THIS WOULD BE COMICAL IF IT WERE NOT SO SAD! Mike Allen could play, he can't coach. The ONLY reason he got this job is because he's friends with the Principal and Asst. Principal. They tried to ram this through 3 years ago by firing Champ Ligon. However, the players rallied the community and the Superintendent was forced to make the Principal hire him back. Ligon proceeded to go 30-3 and won the State Coach-of-the-Year. After 3 more years of harrassment, Ligon had had enough and resigned. The administration has finally gotten what they wanted. You have to feel for the students with that administration at Bryan Station. Mike Allen's record as a Head Coach: 30-81 Frankfort Boys (13-40) 08-09 - (11-19) 07-08 - (2-21) The Frankfort boys averaged 17 wins per-season the 8 years prior to Mike Allen Bryan Station Girls (17-41) 06-07 - (7-23) 05-06 - (10-18) The Bryan Station girls averaged 19 wins per-season the 7 years prior to Mike Allen
  11. Has anyone heard anything in regards to the Dunbar head coach search?
  12. These articles might add a little perspective to the current Bryan Station situation. All you can do is feel for the kids when the adults are incompetent. http://www.kentucky.com/2010/03/31/1204525/ligon-has-inside-scoopthanks-to.html?mi_pluck_action=comment_submitted&qwxq=8788114#Comments_Container http://www.nytimes.com/2010/03/31/sports/ncaabasketball/31mack.html
  13. Actually, the administration fired Ligon in summer of 07. The Superintendent made them take him back and he went 30-3 and was KY Coach-of-the-Year in the 07-08 season. The last 3 years they harrassed him to the point where he finally had had enough. The Principal (Gladys Peoples) and Principal (John Barnes) have now fulfilled there plan of 3 years ago and hired their friend, Mike Allen. A little research on the KHSAA scoreboard shows the following records for Mike Allen coached teams: Frankfort Boys (13-40) 08-09 - (11-19) 07-08 - (2-21) 17 wins per-season avg. the previous 8 years Bryan Station Girls (17-41) 06-07 - (7-23) 05-06 - (10-18) 19 wins per-season avg. the previous 7 years The Bryan Station Boys have averaged 21 wins a season the last 7 years. Let's see how Mike Allen does.
