Somerset beat Mercer the past two years because they were the best team that day. Just like Mercer was twice this year! It had nothing to do with turns or umpires or even portable pots.

I don't understand why Mercer shouldn't be proud of this win. According to the official stats in the paper Mercer out hit, out pitched and committed less errors than the Briar Jumpers. As in any baseball game their were questionable calls made against each team. As for the bat throwing incident the umpire called it just right and I'm sure umpires from all the other regions would agree. Congratulations to the Somerset seniors and the rest of the team for a great season. Congratulations to Mercer for another victory and yes you should be proud of your win!!!
