  1. Congrats to the Lewis Co. Lions on a great season. Im pretty sure you overachieved everybodys expectations for this year. You made a great run when it counted, and accomplished something never done before in school history. Way to go Coach Hampton and the rest of the Lions coaching staff. We were able to beat Elliott Co. in one thing, our student section was much larger and louder. The rest of there fans are hard to beat though. And congrats to Elliott Co. on the 3-peat. You were head and shoulders above everyone in the 16th region and you proved it by winning each regional tournament game by a large margin. IMO, they shouldve had 5 players named to the all-region team if they want to put the best players on the team. I know you'll represent the 16th well. Im hoping you will at least be able to take home a net this post-season.
  2. How many on here will be attending the game? I, for one, plan to make the trip from Lexington to Morehead.
  3. Elliott Co. by 7. Lets hope Lewis Co. can keep this respectable and make a game out of it but I dont see that happening.
  4. Congrats Lewis Co. I didnt expect them to make it pat the first round of the districts and now they're playing for a regional championship. Anyone have stats?
  5. Hate to hear this. He's probably the hardest working player Ive seen this year in high school basketball.
  6. I'll keep picking against the Lions and take Bath by 7. Would love to be there to see it but have other business I must take care of. If Thompson is able to play as well as he did against Fairview and Smith is close to 100% I think the Lions will be able to make a real game out of it. But a lot depends on how Smith is feeling.
  7. Chris Thompson hit a 3 with about 10 seconds left in the 2nd overtime to seal the game for Lewis. Thompson ended with 21 points and probably 10+ rebounds. Caleb Collins for Fairview had 10 of his teams 22 points at halftime and probably had another 15-20 in the 2nd half. Well played game by both teams and well officiated IMO.
  8. This will only turn into a debate about the top players in the 16th and how good Elliott Co. is (which they are). Im anxious to see how the Thompson kid from Lewis Co. plays in front of a large crowd at a college arena. He has been playing well lately, but this atmosphere will be something he completely unfamiliar with.
  9. Theres a difference between being sick and injured, and from what Ive heard they have a player with a possible injury but not sure how severe yet.
  10. This is a good list mentioning some of the best, but I think they could be switched depending on what kind of night a kid is having. IMO, its very difficult for anyone let alone a freshman or sophomore to play well consistently versus good competition.
  11. I just assumed everyone knew I meant freshman and not overall since the entire thread has been about freshman/sophomores. I guess we know what ASSuME gets you.
  12. Since when does Elliott start 5 freshman/sophomores? Last time I checked, they started 4 seniors and a sophomore. Lets try reading the entire thread title before we try to make the entire debate about Elliott Co.
  13. To each there own opinion, but you put any of the 4 players on another team and they will be putting up numbers exceeding that of Mike Terry's. The others arent depended on as much as he is, so there numbers are beneath his. But some of the top freshman in the state probably arent getting the playing time Terry is because of the team they play for.
