  1. Except for the shutout, not too surprising.

The most surprising thing was that coach N. was not able to take another bad loss very gracefully. He seems to always have an excuse. How long will the alumni put up with his attitude?, Or do they care?

  2. Leonhert has been hands down the more accurate passer. I agree with GreenDandy, Brohm's game is power running and FB would be his best spot.

Passing is about 20% of what St X looks at in a QB.They are notorious at taking a fullback and making him a QB. ergo, he is the best QB prospect.

Wake up, St. X does not care if you can pass better, If that was so, the QB on the varsity would be different, and that would not be either QB's they now have The best passing QB from the Jr class is not playing QB but another position. If you can not run with the ball, you will be moved to another position. Passing skills do not enter into the decision.

  4. Going for it inside your own 30 in the first quarter hurt. Defense played great for X. As for the QB situation I would give the edge to Leohnert. Brohm would make a great FB.

To me Brohm looked like the perfect St X QB. He ran very well, carried out fakes and threw the ball accurately. He seemed to be more comfortable when pressure was applied.IMO.

  5. The skilled players from Ballard's team last year were seniors. I do know that they have a transfer from Trinity who is very good, but, the QB kid from last year was a very good athlete who is not back. Also, St X played this game last year with 5 starters on the sideline including the D- lineman who is now at UK. St x 38- 7, and this is with Deuce not playing,

  6. I am not sure X has to "man up". Last year they came within 32 seconds of giving Highlands the opportunity to tie. There were 2880 seconds in each game resulting in 43200 seconds in the season. For 43,168 seconds, X looked man enough to stop the streak.

Quite frankly, Trinity has the recipe for success for 6 out of the last 7 years.

Play 1 or two tough teams early. Don't play anyone with a chance to go deep in the playoffs in weeks 6-10 to save injuries. Never play Male, Highlands, Lexington Catholic, or Central in the regular season. Play a Lexington 6A team in week 4 of the playoffs most years. Can't knock them-it has worked great for them. Hopefully someone can stop them some year.

Why does Trinity not play Manual or Male? They are by far the next best two teams in 6A.

  7. Yes lets not get stupid here and a far as the injury garbage I had a very good friend almost loose his leg because of a Helmet only work out and a DB lost his footing and My friend a WR took that DB's helmet to his thigh bursting a blood vessel and ending my friends career not to mention almost costing him his leg so there are arguments for both. I would prefer for the 7 0n 7 to be shorts, shirts and cleets only.:thumb:

Why did UL allow the teams from TX in w/out helmets? It seems to me that they should have to forfeit with out helmets rather than a local team with helmets. If UL wanted no helmets, they should have made that a policy before every team signed up. Then, all would be on the same playing field, or, possibly UL just wanted their recruits here and did not care about safety.

It will be addressed next year or UL will not have many local participants.

  8. After watching the UofL 7 on 7 I can say there is talent all over the field. Offensively I thought Matt Brutscher, Deuce Finch, Jeremiah Neal, Brian Bauscher, Steven Goodwin and Chase Carrarro looked great.

Defensively the DBs were very strong(Kamber, Galbraith, Burkle and Sears). The LBs looked good following the graduation of some strong players (McCormick, Brutscher and Kilkelly)

So I think the Tigers should be good to go.

How is D J Hall? I understand he did not play in the UL 7 on 7.

  9. Let me ask you a question. How many kids on the X team went to elementery school together ? How many kids on the X team grw up in the same neighborhood? How many kids on X even knew each other before putting on the pads at tryouts. I would say a small percent. X plays for it's school and it's school only. We have some athletes that would star on X's team, but they never considered transfering to a private school where tuition is more than most colleges. Meade has never went out of the county to try to find players in the Catholic and pop warner programs to help them win championships. Nor has our kids went elswhere to play where they know that they would have a better chance to win.

We at Meade do not put a million dollars a year in our football program, We keep the same uniforms until they are wore out and then we give them to the freshman.

There is one thing that we have that you can't hang in the rafters or put in a trophy case, and that is a FAMILY that loves us and has watched us grow since we were babies. We will know the kids who came through our program 30 years from now. Just look at our sideline and see the explayers lined up on the fence. We have something that we can hold on to for life. A Meade Co. home where the community loves us if we are 0-9 or 9-0 just the same. So ten years from now when you are trying to remember the names of the X players on the 07 team you will have to pull out an old program, in Meade county all you have to do is go next door or down the street.

    GO GREEN!!!!!
