  1. Today at around 6:30 pm Matthew Dye,Christian Chasteen and Drew Thompson signed to play there college ball with coach Robert Taylor and the Pikeville Bears. All are outstanding young men and will be great players at the next level. That brings the total number from Harrison County to 4 who will be playing at the next level. Congratulation on your state tournament Championship you make us all proud.

  2. The 10th region feels your pain. Martin and Dye from Harrison County neither one were represented in the all star game and Kyle Campbell from Nicholas County was. Both kids batted over .400 and Martin was 4-0 and pitched a 7 inning perfect game against Simon Kenton which Harrison only won 2-0. Dye went 3-3 with 3 doubles tying the state record and only made one error at second base all year. No offense to Campbell but with the caliber of teams Harrison played and the way these young men performed I feel that the selection of this all-star team was a bit unfair.

Dye went 4 for 4 with all being standup doubles.

  3. How are their T-ball and Coach Pitch leagues coached and run? I was told T-ball was the big thing and was done until the kids were like 10? Most school systems just have T-ball for 4-6 years old, then Coach Pitch for 2 years, then little league. Does Harrison County play Little League or Knothole?

They play T-ball 4-6 year olds coach pitch 7-8 year olds and just switched to little league this year from Cal Ripken.

  4. Harrison will be a very average team without Brandon Martin.

To beat them you will have to out score them. Most of their runs were scored in part due to the bats of the Sophmore class and the freshmen.

Harrison will have some very good young pitching also.

  5. Call me what you want but I am sure that if the play in the top of the second had gone the other way and Campbell wins you would not be happy yourself. Yes the score was 14-2 but it was not over until the 6th inning. Momentum in sports is everything and if you have ever played any sports you would know that. The play at home in the 2nd inning just deflated anything that Campbell was attemting to do. Like I said earlier if he makes the right call Campbell has tied the game 1-1 with a runner on 1st and 3rd with nobody out. You cant tell me that play did not ruin the game. With a runner on third I have no doubt they would have scored and at the time Harrison had just made 2 errors. Who is to say it would not have continued.

Just because the call didn't go your way does not make it the wrong call.I don't things have went all that well for the camels against Harrison in the

regional's regardless of were it is played.
