With the players Banks has now and all the hard times he has seen lately, he doesn't need this before tourn. time. I think he has done a good job with what he has. That's the problem, I think is wrong down at Breathitt is the Admin. won't leave the team along. I've known Banks for about 20 yrs. now and I know this is eating him up inside. Bank's has done things and handle problems that I don't understand, but he is the coach and the people don't need to start rumor's at this time of year. If you are a Bobcat fan get behind the Coaches and the team and give them your support. JMO!

Hey Cuz, You are always letting everyone know your opinion and that's your right, but you do know the true reason for the 2 transfering from Breathitt and let's get the story right. Nick for one is at my house a couple times a week with him and Josh going to the gym working out together. He has said that he wouldn't have played at Breathitt this year no matter what. And has for Josh let's tell all the reader's about Coach Bank's statement that know one like Josh at Breathitt. Now if that was your kid that the Coach said that about you wouldn't like it either. Josh and Nick is both 4.0 student's and Breathitt not only lost 2 good player's but also great student's, and that's the main important thing. And by the way these 2 may have to sit out the year but both will be free agents next year and anything could happen. But one thing for sure they won't be at your beloved Breathitt. By the way Toppledad, just a couple years ago these same kids was state runners up in the middle school losing the final game on a last second shot. But with these two players transfering and several others quitting, let's put the blame in the right place. You know toppledad we have been good friend's over the years and I'm sorry to hear about your sister and we have been praying for her and as we've talk before God is the answer for anything and that is how I've been dealing with everything. Owsley County has a new coach, Doug Noble, and we're happy to have him. He has coached mostly middle school at SMS for his career, but has had great success with a middle school state title, and another runner-up. I know high school is a different level, but he has had success and knows how to win. He has several players back from last year. Owsley was runner-up in the district tournament last year, and should be a contender this year. Powell, Lee, and Estill lost quite a bit to graduation, as did Owsley, so the district should be entertaining to watch this season.

 

I know Coach Noble and he is a fine man as well as a good coach. He just never got the respect in Breathitt Co. that he should have. He should have been Breathitt's Coach years ago and if that had been the case all of the player's that is leaving Breathitt's Basketball team would not have went anywhere. So Owsley you have a top rated coach now and good luck in the future to the Owls and Coach Noble.:dancingpa

I've notice that Breathitt co. has SL on their sch. would this be because it's a down year for SL.

I hate to pick JBS but I think these teams matchup well except for two areas. Breathitt has no answer for Cox and coaching advantadge goes to JBS. So JBS by 9

 

I've watch alot of post by you bball king and i thought you was smarter than that to say the JBS has a better coaching staff than Breathitt. The last time these 2 teams played, on one time out JBS Coaches didn't know what to do so they let the older Stepp draw out the play. You will never see Breathitt's Coach's do that.

Hey Professor I for one are rooting for the Owl's I did pick them to beat Lee Co. but I won't go that far this time, but we can hope.:thumb:

I would not go that far and say BHS came out on fire. I'm sure the coach probably ripped himself in the locker room. The coach just couldn't handle the fact that Jackson was ahead.

I didn't say on fire, I said "fire in their eye's" and yes I would say Coach Bank's was upset anyone would if they fill their team is not performing well.:ylsuper:

You can vote for him now, since he will make it out of the district with the biggest upset in the 14th region.

I think the biggest upset was the Oswley and Lee game. Buckhorn has had some good wins this year where Oswley hasn't played well all season. And like I said from an earlier statement that I think that Coach Bank's and Coach Noble was the front runner's for the Coach of the Year and neither one has proven me wrong. I think Coach Bank's has been chosen as this year's 14th region allstar's Coach, and this is a great discision. Congrat's to Bank's and his Bobcat's on a great turnaround from last year.:thumb:

I think breathitt by 15 or more. I hope breathitt puts in one of there power house freshman "Robby Huff"!! Easy win for the bobcats!!!

He's a fine young man and a good friend of my son. I think jackson played about as well as they could have played in the first half, Coach Bank's must have made some major ajustment's a half time because Breathitt came out with fire in their eye's the second half. In the first half Bank's made several sub. to try and find a good fit and at one time in the second quarter in had 4 freshman on the floor at the same time, this is exactly what he did on friday at owsley co. and they held their own. That take's gut's!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good win for the Bobcat's but I hope that they want be happy with just this victory they still have 4 more to go.:banana: :banana: :banana: :banana: :banana: :dancingpa :flame:

Who will be the favorite. now that PCC has been beat out. The Lex. Herald had them 1 all year, I think.

Watkins will have a big night for the tigers where he is a senior, but the tigers will fall short by 19 points. Watkins can ball out, but the thing is he doesn't have much of a supporting cast. Good Luck to both teams.

Hey are you talking about the same team that the davision kid plays on. Watkins doesn't have a supporting cast i'm sorry but Davision is the player on this team not watkin's, he may be the fourth best player for the tiger's, BEHIDE Davision,Kilburn,Lusk. I don't mean to sound neg. about the watkin's kid i'm sure he is a fine young man but the best player on the team. I don't think so.:jump:

Professor told you after watching the owls play breathitt last friday that i thought they could beat lee co. And don't be surprise to see estill do the same against powell. Good win for the owls.:thumb:

But i do think that either owsley or estill will pull the upset if not both of them.

I'd like to see Owsley in the finals, that's for sure. But they were hammered by Lee both times they played this year.

The Owls are playing a bigger lineup now, with 6'4 sophomore Jeremy Congleton now starting along with his brother, 6'3 Trey, and 6'3 Adam McIntosh. If they can handle Lee's press better than the first two times and protect the ball in their half court sets, they might have a chance. Being at home doesn't hurt, but it didn't help them the last time they played the Bobcats. Maybe this time will be different.

The Owls have had a rough season, but a win over Lee and a trip to the region would wipe away a lot of the disappointments, and give a big boost for next year (the Owls have all players back except one).

 

Hey Professor i watch the game between the owls and breathitt the other night and the owl's seem to play pretty well with this lineup, they look alot better this time than when they played breathitt the first time. And i understood that the older congleton boy was playing sick that night. So i look for and upset against lee co. JMO

1. PCC (Hottest team in the region with wins over Hazard, JBS, Powell recently)

2. Hazard (not playing thier thier best ball but still winning, Williams a factor)

3. JBS (like Hazard slumping but still winning)

4. Breathitt (Also not playing best ball of the year right now but still winning)

5. Lee Co. (playing much better as of late, recent wins over KCC, Powell, Buckhorn and lost a buzzer beater to Henry Clay)

6. LCC (Playing better right now, beat PCC, Powell, Breathitt recently and Lee early in the year.)

7. Powell Co. ( recent losses to Lee, PCC, KCC, LCC and a win over Hazard)

8. Buckhorn ( Noble has his kids primed for a run in the tournament)

9 KCC( playing better each week, could knock off JBS in districts won't be shocked)

10. Estill Co (got shooters, when hot Dangerous)

Hey bball king i think that JBS, PCC,Breathitt,Hazard in no such order could win against each other on any given night and i do think they are the top 4 teams in the region but the next 4or5 teams could beat either of the top 4 if they don't come with their game face on. I've seen about every team play this year with the exception of powell and from what i've heard they are up and down but can't be overlook. It is the most comp. 14th region i have seen in the last 20 years.

54th- Perry Central could be upset by Buckhorn if the Horn comes to play. Will be a battle of the Perry County Schools.

 

55th- Breathitt could be upset by in county rival Jackson City if they don't come to play and under estimate the Bobcats.

 

56th- Lee could run into a buzz saw if they don't come to play at Owsley county. The Owls are at home and Lee county better not under estimate them or they could go home really early!

 

I think that powell co. is the one that is most likely to get upset, if estill co. is hitting the 3 it will be a long night for Livley and his pirate's. JMO;)

It is very hard to go the mag. co. and when and the ref. is questionable at times, i have a good friend that went and watch Breathitt co. play there earlier this year and he said it was bad, even tho. breathitt beat them by i think 19 pts. he said it was a hard game.

Coach Banks would be my first slection and then i think Coach Noble would be my second he has done a great job at buckhorn and he is a good guy.:thumb:

I think it should go back to the old way where you have a B. Team Boy's and then the A Team Boy's game not girl's and boy's on the same night. Most school's has a girl's b. team now. I also agree that on night's the boy's play that the girl's should not and vise ver. also. I think the fan's would enjoy it more plus some parent's has a girl and boy playing so it would be real hard on them to decide which game to go to.

yeah, thats true, but you cant win every game, it seems when JBS gets beat, everyone goes wild, JBS is still the best IMO, in the region, but its going to be a wild tourney, Powell, Perry, Hazard, Lee, Buckhorn, Knott, all of these teams could win the region, but my pick is still JBS, they have beaten Hazard, Breathitt, Buckhorn, and Knott two times.

 

Hey buzzer beater they did beat hazard but then hazard blew them out in the All A when it really counted and they had to have a great game from stepp to beat breathitt at JBS which if it was at any other place the bobcat's would have won and then they beat buckhorn in OT and from what i understand there was a couple a bad call's at the end of that game that went in JBS way so really if jbs makes it out of the dist. it will be a miracle. I thought estill played real well in this game, seems like on any given night in the 14th any team can win, but this was a big win for the bobcat's going down there and getting the victory if it was by just 1 pt.

But since you brought up about JCS not being a tiger fan let just let everyone know the truth...

With haz. winning the all-a then they was over the khsaa limit and they would cancel with JBS and if JBS had won the all-a then their game with Breathitt co. would have been cancel because of the khsaa sch. limit.
