Just heard from the coach That Matt Thompson signed to University Of Charleston.

Congrats to Ashland on the win. I heard some cockiness by Fairview's 2nd baseman in the last inning really cost Fairview this game.

The shame of it all is that the rest of the boys played their hearts out. Matt Thompson pitched a heck of a game and the center fielder played at college level.

I too will not post anymore on this thread because OLDRAMBLER and STATMASTER have my views. My question is entirely a different one and I hope no one jumps on the bandwagon thinking I am talking bad about the Daily Independent but here is my question. Does the Daily not post scores for everyone? Seems to me the two games we have won recently have not been posted. (Menifee and East)

 

I am old and forgetful so maybe that has always been the way of it. Certain games are selected.

The coaches usually are the one that call a number the Independent gives them to report scores of each game.Games must be reported before 11:00pm.

The Independent is very good about posting if the coach call the scores in.

Really my complaints were aimed at The Head JV. Coach, sorry to be so ambigous. I attended my 4th game today, and I saw more of the same. This Seargent guy may be the nicest most caring guy in the world. I applaud him for coming out for this position. But after speaking with several parents this evening, my opinion seems to be shared among most of the parents. This man does not know how to COACH baseball. He may know alot about the game, but knowing and coaching are two different things.

Sounds like a person I would like to have had coached my kids in JV to me.

I really like to hear the comments of bleacher coaches that dont have a clue.

To me single A sports is the hardest of all to coach. These schools have limited amount of players and have up and down seasons from year to year. Having one player out can make a big difference. I personally appreciate single A coaches more in the fact that they do not have the depth of larger schools and require more coaching strategy. Coach Hoof being a Hall of Fame coach along with Coach Hall tells me that Raceland is blessed with an excellent coaching staff.

Raceland and Fairview are always hard competitors to deal with in their district.

Thats one reason I love this game.Any team has a chance at winning on a given day.Congrats Royals.
