  1. I do think that is great! A "great college education" makes it perfect! This is the type of story that I was looking for.

May I ask what college this was?

Did you transfer because you thought coach Fookes could get you to the D1 level?

I did transfer to play for her because I knew she would prepare me for that level, which was my dream. And I did make that decision on my own, not my parents or anybody else, I knew where I wanted to go with my career, and I did what I had to do to get there, and that was play for Boone County.

  2. Wow! Conner had three players transfer to other schools?

Since Conner is (arguably) the best team in northern Kentucky.... even after losing three players to other teams.... they must have quite a coach! Has this accomplishment gone unnoticed?

As far a "Division One" basketball is concerned.... I was asking if any of the "stars" that transfer to Boone County have ever recieved a full ride scholarship for basketball? If not.... was the move really worth disrupting the entire family?

    I asked three questions:

    1. If many of the "star" players in the region transfer to one school.... then how difficult would it be to take a group of these "star" players and beat the same schools that they transferred from? It wouldn't take a genius

    2. What do the people in the region think about all of these transfers?

For example: It had to be difficult for the Conner crowd to watch the Boone County point guard (Conner transfer) get named the District MVP.

    3. What are the parents thinking? Why would they disrupt their family with a move just so their daughter can play basketball at Boone County? How many (if ANY) of these players have gone on to play major Division One basketball?

I have noticed that Boone County fans don't like to answer these questions. Why is that? I will have to assume it is because they do not like to have to admit to the honest the answers.

I transfered in to play for Nell and I had quite a successful career at a D1 university, if you consider 5th leading scorer in program history, career leader in 3's made, career leader in free throw percentage, and a great college education successful...

Tangie Seller Played D 1 at Sounthern Illinois. Look at the 9th, how many D one players have their been!? Not many. But How many of her Players have gone on to play at the next level? Dozens! 3 just from last years squad.(including one that didn't even start) She coaches like a college coach, and that only helps her players that go on to the next level. Girls that she has coached have gotten to play at the next level, that if they didn't play at boone and under nell, i'm sure would have never gotten that oppotunity!

I played for her and went on to play D1 basketball, and I can tell you from experience...her practices were 10 times harder than any practice I went through in college. I was so prepared by her Physically and mentally to compete at that level from the moment I stepped on campus and was able to have a successful career...and THAT is why parents let students transfer in to play for her, so that they can be ready for the next level whether it is D1 or DIII.

  4. 1998 Final Four is a far as they have been from what I could find on KHSAA website. The website is hard to navigate and find history on the Sweet Sixteens.

You are correct that the 98' team made it to the final four. We lost saturday morning to Montgomery County on two free throws with less than a second on the clock.
